I'd seen that Harvard had elected its first female president, but I hadn't realized she was a Bryn Mawr alum! We are so awesome. :)

Books I've read somewhere in the recent past but neglected to mention:
Weetzie Bat, by Francesca Lia Block. A cute little (very little!) book about free spirit Weetzie and her friend Dirk who both go searching for the men of their dreams, and find them in a someone magical and surreal manner. This book doesn't take itself too seriously, especially with the fun wordplay.
Welcome to the Ark by Stephanie Tolan. A bunch of exceptionally bright kids who happen to have paranormal powers end up in a psychiatric group home, where they are singled out for an experiment in home living and end up using their mental connection to influence events and people. Unfortunately, the happy ending solving all the world's problems doesn't quite happen, and the kids decide not to use their powers for years, until some of them reunite at the end of the book. There's hints of hope, but nothing concrete.
