Yay for library trips

Of course my little brother ended up needing to study for finals right after I finished Legends II, and he's apparently incapable of studying in his bedroom at his desk, so I couldn't watch more of the first season of Lost and I had nothing to read. Fortunately, a trip to the library saved me from total boredom. Except now I think I have too many books than I will be able to read in the next three weeks, with all these applications due. Oh well, I can always renew them.

Currently reading: A Grave Talent, by Laurie R. King. I love her Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes series, so until a new book comes out I thought I'd try the rest of her stuff. I don't know why she's trying so hard to keep the identity of the protagonist Kate's lover secret, though...the very omission makes it obvious that it's another woman.

Just finished: Music to my Sorrow, by Mercedes Lackey and Rosemary Edgehill. I'm pretty disappointed with Lackey, as the quality of all her recent works seem to be going downhill. But I really liked the start of this series, and enjoy the characters, so I keep reading the new books in hopes that things will get better. I really enjoyed the last book in this series, but this one was just ok. I did get annoyed at random things in the book that didn't seem to have a reason in the plot to be there, like the dog Molly. I noticed that there was a dedication to "Molly", so it's all well and good, but don't add characters for the sake of pleasing your friends.
